1-3-1 Push Wing Trap

The 1-3-1 Push Wing Trap is a half court pressing system. The focus of the defence is to initiate trapping areas above the quarter court, but well within the halfway line.

 

This position of the 1-3-1 Push Wing Trap helps reduce the distance needing to be covered by the defenders in rotation.

The I-Press: A Full Court Trapping Variation

The I-Press is a variation of a full court press. The I-Press looks to change the alignment of the defensive players to crowd the split line on the court. This tactic looks to isolate one side of the floor from the other. This effectively creates less space to defend and reduces the options for the offensive team to choose.

2-2-1 Quarter Court Trap offers something a little different for coaches to utilise within their defensive options. The 2-2-1 Quarter Court Trap provides an option that is that little bit different to full court and half court options often seen for trapping. The 2-2-1 Quarter Court Trap also provides a slightly different formation to what many standard trapping formations utilise like the 1-2-2 or 1-2-1-1.
